Watchman (Guayusa)
The Guayusa in this mix is a daily staple of the Quechua people. Embraced by the indigenous tribes of the Amazon for at least a thousand years, Guayusa is known as “The Night Watchman”, and traditionally drunk around a campfire before dawn along with the other members of the tribe where they describe their dreams to each other.
Legend has it, that the tribes prayed for a plant that could help them connect to the spirits of the dream world. When they awoke in the morning, there was a guayusa plant in their hands. The brew was often drunk the night before a hunt, to encourage visions of whether it would be a successful outing and to provide energy required. Guayusa can produce an alerted dream state that the tribes who drank it were said to be able to control their actions in the dreams, what we now call lucid dreaming.
Within an ayahuascua ceremony the Guayusa is said to create lighter and clearer visions which providing focus and alertness. The silver Yarumo leaves that carry calcium and minerals to transport the medicinal particles of the blend into the whole body and the Mapacho has the function of helping to open the self to the spiritual realm.
This rape was created by a neo-shaman who has travelled extensively working with indigenous tribes.
Created in the heart of the Ecuadorian forest in a place known as the Chocó region. A beautiful place where the lowland forest joins the Andean mountains.
